Job Title: Junior Lineman
The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited is seeking candidates for the position of Junior Lineman. The company is looking to fill 553 vacancies through this recruitment process.
Job Details:
Position: Junior Lineman Number of Vacancies: 553 Age: Candidates must be between 18 to 35 years old as of January 1, 2023. Pay Scale: The salary for this position ranges from Rs. 24,340 to Rs. 39,405.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed SSLC/SSC/10th Class with an I.T.I. qualification in Electrical Trade/Wireman or a 2-year Intermediate Vocational course in Electrical Trade.
Application Deadline: The last date for submitting your online application is March 28, 2023, until 11:59 pm.
Age Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/EWS categories are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit.
Exam Preparation:
To secure a job as a Junior Lineman in TSSPDCL, candidates must clear the written examination. The written examination will be held on April 30th, 2023, and will consist of 80 multiple-choice questions carrying 80 marks. The duration of the exam will be two hours.
Scheme of Examination:
The written examination will comprise of two papers – Paper A and Paper B. Paper A will consist of 65 questions on core ITI subject, and Paper B will have 15 questions on General Knowledge. Each question will carry one mark, and the total marks will be 100.
Paper A: ITI (Electrical Trade) – 65 Marks
The following topics will be covered in Paper A:
Fundamentals of electricity: Electrical occupational safety, tools, Ohms law, Kirchoffs law, series, parallel, Kirchoffs law and star delta, problems – Electrostatics and capacitors. Earthing principles and methods of earthing.
Batteries: primary and secondary, lead-acid cells, methods of charging – testing and application of batteries, invertors, battery chargers, and maintenance.
Magnetism: Magnetic materials and properties – laws of magnetism – electromagnetism, electromagnetic induction.
Fundamentals of AC: Simple problems of AC fundamentals, power, power factor, single phase and three-phase circuits.
Basic Electronics: Electronic components, rectifiers, amplifiers, oscillators, and power electronic components.
DC Machines: construction, working principle, and simple problems on DC generators and motors, speed control, and applications of DC motors – windings.
Transformers: construction, working principle, basic concepts, and simple problems on transformers – windings – auto transformers, power transformers, CT & PT.
AC Machines: basic concepts, construction principle, and simple problems on three-phase and single-phase induction motor, universal motor, alternators, synchronous motors and their applications, and windings – concept of power electronic drives.
Electrical measurements –Different types of AC and DC measuring instruments, Domestic appliances, and Illumination concepts – types of electric lamps.
Electric Power generation- thermal, hydel, and nuclear, transmission and distribution system – basic concepts, non-conventional energy sources.
Paper B: General Knowledge – 15 Marks
Paper B will cover the following topics:
Analytical and Numerical Ability.
Current affairs.
Consumer Relations.
General Science in everyday life.
Environmental Issues and Disaster Management.
History, Geography, and Economy of India and Telangana.
History of Telangana and Telangana Movement.
Society, Culture, Heritage, Arts, and Literature of Telangana.
Weightage Marks for Artisans and Outsourced Personnel
The weightage marks will be maximum up to 20 marks for Artisans and Outsourced Personnel engaged through Societies (permitted by the Corporate Office) in TSTRANSCO/TSSPDCL/TSNPDCL, working as on the date of this notification and having relevant experience and who qualify in the Written Test. Note that the personnel working for the Private Agencies performing the works of TSTRANSCO/TSSPDCL/TSNPDCL awarded on lumpsum/piece meal rate basis are not eligible for weightage marks.
