Qualifications Required

Each position has specific educational requirements. Review the table below to check if you qualify for your preferred discipline.

Discipline Qualifications
Commercial Engineering degree or Graduate with MBA/PG in Marketing, Foreign Trade, Sales, or CA/ICMA qualification.
Environment Degree in Civil, Chemical, Mining, or Environmental Engineering; or PG in Environmental Management, Science, Geology, Chemistry, Botany.
Geo & Quality Control M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), or M.Tech in Geology.
Mining Diploma in Mining Engineering with Foreman’s Certificate; or Degree in Mining Engineering with a 2nd Class Mines Manager Certificate and relevant experience.
Survey Diploma in Mining or Mine Surveying and Mine Surveyor’s Certificate.
Chemical M.Sc. in Chemistry or Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Civil Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering with experience in industrial and multi-storied construction.
Electrical Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with Electrical Supervisory Certificate and experience in HT/LT systems maintenance.
Industrial Engineering Degree in Industrial or Mining/Mechanical/Production Engineering with PG in Industrial Engineering.
Mechanical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in maintenance and operation of heavy machinery.

Location

Positions are available across various NMDC projects and units within India. Selected candidates must be open to relocation as per NMDC’s requirements.


Salary and Stipend During Training

During the training period, Junior Officer Trainees will receive a monthly stipend as outlined below. Upon successful completion, they will be placed on a regular pay scale.

Age Limit

  • Upper Age Limit: 32 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • Departmental Candidates (NMDC): Up to 15 years

Selection Process

The selection process for Junior Officer (Trainee) positions consists of two stages:

Stage Mode of Selection Qualifying Marks
Stage I Online Test (Computer-Based) 100 marks, multiple-choice questions
Stage II Supervisory Skill Test Qualifying only

Minimum Marks Required in Online Test:

  • UR/EWS: 50 marks
  • OBC: 45 marks
  • SC/ST/PwD: 40 marks

Only candidates who pass the Online Test will advance to the Supervisory Skill Test, which is qualifying in nature.


Additional Information

  • Call Letters: Available for download on the NMDC website and sent to the candidate’s registered email.
  • Travel Reimbursement: Outstation SC/ST/PwD/Ex-servicemen candidates attending the Online Test and all outstation candidates for the Supervisory Skill Test are eligible for travel reimbursement according to NMDC’s policy.
